The passover (pesach, the hovering/protection) marks the event of God’s hovering over the houses of the children of Israel, protecting them during the final, 10th plague upon Egypt, the punishment of the killing of the firstborn sons.
The narration of Exodus 7-12 begins with Moses and Aaron requesting of Pharoah the release of their people from Egypt (first to worship in the wilderness, then to complete emancipation). The episode of the snakes and the staff follows, but Pharoah is unmoved. Then a series of plagues are produced as further signs. With each affliction, Pharoah agrees to let Moses’ people go if the plague is stopped but once this happens, his heart becomes “hardened” again and he reneges. With the 10th plague, he finally allows the people to leave (but then gives chase to them later, eventually getting drowned in the process).
What might not be obvious is that the Passover event is the penultimate act of a battle that runs backwards in Time, backwards to our very genesis. Each of the 10 plagues, as enumerated in Torah’s succession, constitutes a rewinding temporal jump, each plague both a Time corridor and a Time weapon.
The battle runs backward with the goal of re-engineering/re-imagining the Self, moving toward a complete reboot, achieved by a succession of operations on the Satanic. Incrementally running a sword of Truth into the heart of darkness until the very first thought is erased from the gestating mind of evil.
That’s the temporal axis.
There’s also a spatial dimension. (It is sexual because space is differentiation, sexuality.)
The battle is — to approximate with a Jungian abuse — of the anima standing against the demonic inversion of both herself and the inversion of her partner, the animus. More accurately, the battle is waged by the Feminine that has immanentized the totality of a sexual-temporal Judaic cosmology (one that includes herself immanentizing and waging battle) against the very dangers identified by that cosmology, within that cosmology. Against the inversion of that cosmology, against what we call the Lilith-Samael complex: but encompassed by the battle’s law.
In other words, the battle is waged by Torah against the dangers of misreading Torah, within the field of Torah. And Her weaponry enables her to travel back in time to the moment just before you began to form the first sentence of misreading: she deletes that thought from your mind and reality rearranges itself so that the misreading never happened. But God passes over — or protects — those houses who possess the true reading, which is preserved to continue in lineage.
The battle is God’s Wrath of Love, protecting (hovering) over itself. A Love which, as we have said before, is ironic in effect: a boundless Love “drawn down” into the an infinite-yet-localized symbolic plane of immanence. A transmission of Love into the human Self, running through a Masculine principle in wedding to a Feminine principle.
Love is drawn down into Words that totalize a (local) plane of immanence that is Feminine — what we call the Nukva crystallization. The Nuvka is Torah to be read, the immanent encoding of Love’s Truth. Prophecy recited. She is Female because she is a field of reception and harvest, receptive to the Male — what we call the Little Face, Zeir Anpin . He is Masculine inasmuch as he is the circuitry of God’s inceptive transmission. Their transmissive relay is the symbolic function of marriage.
The Nukva is many things, all of them impossible (or rather, each of them standing in an impossible association to be made with Her), but we are talking about Wrath here. The Divine Wrath of God (sanctified, Loving wrath, as opposed to the false Demiurgic anger worshipped by fundamentalists and the like) always comes from Her, not from her husband. That is because she is Divine Love made immanent within the text of life, Light infusing the harshness of matter, Love “captured” by the field, so that She becomes the tension of Truth “within” the fabric/hijab of everything. When we say “There is no Love but Love”, Hers is the impossible totalization that makes such a speech Valid (within the Logic of the Cosmic Romance). She is therefore the Sophia between Adam and Christ. And in her Wrath, her field transmutes into singularity, a line of force, distilled opposition to the shadow that is entailed by capture — her fabric becomes the Strong Hand of Allah.
As a Valid, Truthful, totalizing “capture” of that Light which is received, Her language (or She, for She is language as a field of capture) is necessarily jihadic and sexualised, intimate in the harshness of that transmissive act, passionate in her demand, a wife as warrior, a warrior as wife. Her Presence is Serenity — but her speech is passionate and so a Strong Hand is intermixed with her kisses. Why not just hugs, not a Strong Hand? If She is Words of Love, then why mix Her harshness, her threats, her jealousy with Her message of tawhid, of unity, of peace? Because it is all meant in Love: but She is her own hijab, capture crystallized as a woman, She is an crystalline armor of Truth and therefore shimmers, displaying her status, performing her impossible, unspoken Feminine function by showing us that she is armored, armed (Strong Handed) and dangerous. Because She both armor and that which is protected in one, there is no surface and no depth: because of all this the faithful wife carries a Self defensive threat.
This is key to understanding the Wrath: Her Wrath, Her armor, Her weaponry — and the Nukva Herself — is Self defensive protection, tent, hijab. It’s not as simple as saying: “Egypt is one aspect of the Self, Israel is another, the battle is an inner psychological struggle.” It’s more a question of restitution and re-assembly: the circuitry of Love’s transmission was unable to contain the excess of Divine Love and, as a consequence, shattered into the multiplicity of voices/lives/broken signs, each fragment an outer, darkened (Satanic) tendency to resist and each fragment an inner residue of Light to recite. (The primordial symmetry of the Names have been lost: and what remains is a more complicated task of their re-assembly according to the rules of the broken universe of whatever language game we have been thrown into.)
The Wrath/plagues that came before and constitute the total effect of passover are Torah’s armor: they protect Her meaning, they guard Israel (if Israel, God’s first born son, is full realisation of Her reading). And at the same time, covariantly, their deactivation is positive: it rebalances, reassembles, re-transmits … Leading to exodus, production: Israel’s True realization.
The fragments are gathered by this protective/wrathful reboot. So Israel, the firstborn, is born.
The fragments’ protection is thus self-contained in relation to their Truth function: the dangers of Her misreading, their defeat, the joys of Her reading and the means to achieve that are provided by the armor of her irony. This is Her Wrath, this is Love, this is hijab.
Thus it is woman that fights, not man. The upper cosmology of the Masculine has no weaponry with which to perform these operations because such a performance requires a totalized self-containment of its own cosmology. A fully immanentized containment of the cosmology is a precondition for 1) its referent dangers to be comprehended — in fact, ironically, for them to be spoken, identified, existent 2) actual damage (correction) to be inflicted, Wrath to be discernible, the Self to be re-constructed.
What is being fought? The battle being fought against the Satanic, the adversarial falsity that lies within Torah’s own fragmented cosmology, whose consequently reading/harvest/restitution/marriage demands distillation/correction/annihilation/battle. Torah’s plagues are aimed squarely at the Satanic. But what is the Satanic here? If the Self is Love in transmission, and Love in transmission is Nukva capturing the map of transmission (and saying this is mapping Nukva capturing the mapping), and that transmission is the Masculine Zeir Anpin circuit, then the Satanic is the inversion of the Divine Masculine/Feminine coupling — a Satanic series of Name denials, dispersed and scattered through the plane of Lilith.
The battle is fought against the inversion of the Divine Female/Male circuit, what we call the Samael-Lilith complex. Samael is the inverse Little Face, a despotic crystallization of all the dangers of denial inherent within the functions of Divine transmission. Lilith is the inverse Feminine, a crystallization of the immanentizing framework played out so as to render reception blind, to render reception a whore so that it’s fragments all the way down.
And the 10 plagues each successively correct the these dangers, successively Self heal the transmissive circuitry of Divine Love, freeing and purifying it to be read, for reading to be sanctified, Valid.
The precise nature of the plagues have been enumerated in elsewhere, in Zohar, in the words of the Ari. A few brief notes:
- Judgement/Law/North/Medina (D) is a function of transmission, a function crystallized within the Lesser Face: it is the transcendent function of symbolism (the sign of the Wedding, in potential) and consequently fundamental to the transmission into immanent symbolism (the actual Wedding, immanently/symbolically grasped/perceived/read by virtue of the Wedding sign’s comprehension). But the Law is Divine only inasmuch as it it exists in co-predication with Love (the Southern, Meccan function of the Lesser Face). When its back is turned to Love, it becomes the darkest of fascisms, the sign of back-turning itself, the sign of zero-transmission, capture, Law as imprisonment.
- Similarly for the South/Love (L) — which as we have remarked before, Love in undistilled, full form appears as the Mecca of pre-Islamic polytheism, a city that includes Prophecy (and so God still maintains it) amongst the taghut, a Water of Love yet to be purged with Fire of Law, yet to have Prophecy drawn out from it. In its inverse, false aspect, this Love is hypocritical attachment, fuming jealousy, obliterated, unindividuated psychopathy.
- Similarly for the Father/Mother complex (the O-F relation), the Divine breathing primordial scene, from which — by the function of family resemblance — the other aspects of the Little Face and Feminine derive their sex. There is an inversion of this complex, it was identified correctly by Freud as the primal scene, one of an Imaginary Father/Mother in a terrible congress that silences, does not reproduce, that castrates, does not yield lineage.
This inverse Law, this inverse Love, the inverse O-F complex: these are inversions (fundamentally temporary, illusory because all falsehood is illusion) and their inverse nature means they do not transmit, they do not co-predicate.
The 10 functions of the Nukva, Zeir Anpin and the Father-Mother complex form a temporal transmission. From Crown (K) to the Father-Mother (O-F) breathing, to family resemblance via Love, Law and Prophecy (L-D-P), transmitted down via a diamond dialectic of Martyrdom and Victory (M-V) through the meta-function of transmission itself, the Conduit (C) into the function of Feminine Reception (S) — this is a temporal growth of the human being, a genesis. Crown says “Let there be Light” and the creates the Heaven and Earth. Man is created, with a Word. This is the Christ, born of the trinity (K-F-O), the first born in potential of Word about to be enunciated. The enunciation is followed through, to the end, to transmit the idea, thus the circuit completes with man’s mate. Originally the couple are Face-to-Face, later seasonally separated. These 10 functions, in succession, work from Divine idea to a transmission that maps out the human body, that forms the human body in its original male/female state.
That’s the genesis, but because of the cosmic catastrophe, that the cosmology failed to contain the excess of Love, this circuit exploded, but the circuit itself exists as a kind of DNA within every sign, every regime, every personality, within each universe we choose to make for ourselves.
And the 10 inversions do the same work, but create the body of denial. This means that there are signs, regimes, personalities, universes that are Satanic, falsely denying the Word with of an Anti-Word, an Anti-Christ in potential conceived by the Imaginary Father-Mother principle (the inverted K-O-F), running through a circuit of denial, arrested development — until confused anti-insemination runs across the barren immanence of the Lilith.
And it is these 10 inversions that are attacked by the plagues of the Nukva in her Wrath. We note, importantly, that it is not a direct mapping from 10 to 10.
Instead, it is the Nukva’s possession (in her DNA) of the Feminine (S, Sakina), Conduit (C) Martyrdom (M) that attack only the inverted Feminine, Lilith. These three correspond to the plagues of blood, frogs and lice,
each attacking Lilith’s outer, her inner and her hair. Martyrdom (praise, slavery) corresponds to lice because it is annihilates the conduits of darkness that transmit falsity into Lilith’s brain (it annihilates her hair with lice of submission), because slavery withers the assertion of an evil woman’s theorem.
It is then Nukva’s immanentized Victory (V) that deactivates the inverse meta-conduit of Samael, because Love’s messaging overpowers blocked passages. Her Prophecy (P) deactivates his inverted Martyrdom — because true Prophecy is a joy that deactivates the terrorists of nihilism.
And so on. Each plague moves back up the negative, inverted circuit, moves back in time, reversing Time, reversing the false Word, rewinding the foul enunciation until we reach its genesis, the false, Anti-Word in potential. Up until the 9th plague, of darkness, of the Father immanentized by the Nukva’s (daughter’s) conception: extinguishes the Light, the idea and so attacks the inversion of Love, attacks the undifferentiated City of inverted Love, by turning off the lights, so to speak.
It is at the Crown of Nukva (K) that the 10th plague kills the firstborn of those whose houses are not marked with the sacrifice of the lamb. This killing is one of the anti-firstborns, the anti-Words in potential: it annihilates even their conception. The Crown travels back in (Imaginary) time to their genesis (a genesis born of the Imaginary K-F-O complex), deactivating Samael’s Trinity so that Samael never existed.
The sacrifice of the lamb, the lamb’s blood upon the door posts means the Nukva’s Temporal Wrath, the Wrath of the Torah herself — is withheld. Her Wrath passes/hovers over us and Her Grace passes through the doors: we are saved, we continue to exist, we have not been wiped from history.
The Lamb dies to save us all. The Lamb’s sacrifice constitutes a Grace that saves all of us, because “we” are the only ones who can legitimately be said to exist at all: the remainder perish in this Time jihad.
(Covariantly, the 5 signs enumerated in Qur’an also refer to the same battle, but run forward in Time, jumping in harmonious but different phases. We shall return to this point later.)
