Apparent

A little song about a number of important things (the verse “We have indeed created humankind in the best of molds” 95:4, the entire Qur’an itself and our existential relationship to it, the command iqra and Hajar’s 4×7 ascent and our own individual Hajj). Penned by your friendly neighbourhood Tailor, as interpreted by Sally Deen and the Friends of Design.

Lyrics:

silently it became apparent
between the earth and the sky
that the suffering would vanish
no Time to reason why

looked at in parallel
under the sea and in the air
it’s our place in the world
to be here you’re not unaware

that the meaning of existence
in this journey back to our mold
could be part of something bigger
something marvelous to behold

coded re-loaded chosen Mind glowing

and letting it shine through
she looks ahead inside of you
in the forest of your dreams
you can meet her there

beneath the stars of our journey
between the earth and the sky
our weariness and our comfort
enough Time to reason why

looked at in parallel
on our pilgrimage to the peak
that the meaning of existence
it’s something we might Speak

coded re-loaded chosen Mind glowing
