the phantom of unity

there is no such a thing as a unified universal. there are only existential (differential) measures of collusion, intrinsically momentary, computed (witnessed) as a function of performative speech acts. these speech acts are essentially selfish in nature, from the perspective of the metamodel: they achieve an intention that serves the speaking self, by pronouncing a unified universal (statement) across a chaos of bodies and when successful, like an incantation, a sign regime crystalizes about an ummah. example performative acts: “workers of the world, unite!” (marx), “i created you tribes so that you may know each other” (religion), “come together, right now, over me” (the beatles campaign song for timothy leary).

but the reality is that we are not sheep, but packs of wolves: the sign regime is a kind of ego-garment that thinly veils the wetness/erection of the id, the fangs of the wolf. the tribes will economically (genetically, familially, financially, nationally) ally against a common enemy, but they will slit each other’s throats barring the constraints of their contract. and the moment a time comes where a contract can be renegotiated, the wolves will draw blood explicitly. until that time comes, the tension of hatred underlies all transactions: the hatred is mutual, fundamental, atomic. the hatred of one permutation of dna for another permutation, of the tribe for the stranger.

the phantasy of the universal unifying speech act then is to assemble a mass from the packs, turn wolves into sheep, conquering territories so that they yield (in a single differential moment) to the phantom of unity. the assemblage is classical: it believes in a universal truth, a “forall a. forall P. P(a) or not P(a)” — the ideal space, fully mapped before we even began the journey? but when have we really seen an empire operate effectively on such a classical logic? the soviet union crumbled after less than a century.

the wise power broker will utilize the phantom of liberty via the -A translation of classical logic into constructive existentials. the space of hatred is a topology navigated by the wise via the demonic declarative: “not exists a. not exists P. not P(a) and not P(a)”.
